I have paid Advanced twice to diagnose and fix the problem of my cooling fan failing to work. Additionally, I paid Minton Body Shop who paid Advanced to diagnose and replace this same fan. They have diagnosed and replaced it 3 times and it went out again. They wanted me to pay them an additional $135/hour to diagnose the problem, stating that they didn't diagnose it the previous times, and they only did what was asked of them by me and Minton. However, I have two invoices stating that they diagnosed it, plus the word of Max Bland at Minton, whom I trust beyond the shadow of a doubt, who says he asked them to and they did diagnose it. Instead of giving me answers to my questions about why on earth I would pay them to look at something they've already been paid three times for, Justin chose to explain to me why the problem needed to be properly diagnosed (No kidding! That is what I asked them to do last summer!), tried to throw Max under the bus, saying he was responsible for the diagnosis, and refused any kind of assistance in getting my overheated car to their shop so I could give them more money. Additionally, when I asked for a GM part to be installed, he told me it was a special order and would take 7-10 days to get here. However, Lloyd and Adam over at Auto Choice (GREAT place for honest work) had the part there the same day. This was vital considering I am a single mom and I support my son and myself with that car. Not being able to drive it this past "Eclipse Weekend" cost me anywhere from $600-$1,000 of wages. Losing another 7-10 days quite literally could have put us on the street.
We at Advanced Auto Care stand by our repair procedures and our customer first approach to conducting business. As charges relate to repairs performed at our facility for Ms. Mccord we maintain they were fair and equivocal to the work that was performed. As is often the case with vehicles that have been in a collision other mechanical failures can and will occur. As is the case with Ms. Mccords first visit to our repair facility. We discovered upon diagnosis 6 weeks after the collision center repairs were complete the vehicle had developed a coolant leak from the water outlet valve and we repaired it. Her second visit to us 2 months and a touch under 10k miles later we found the fan was faulty. Both times we replaced the fan the part was provided by the collision center with only labor being charged as the aftermarket part install warranty does not cover labor. It is our store policy we do not cover cost of tow to or from our facility. We wish Ms. Mccord nothing but the best and lament things did not conclude our business on a more positive note.
